<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-133 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE REGIONAL CONTROLLED <br />SUBSTANCE APPREHENSION PROGRAM GRANT; AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXECUTION OF GRANTEE ACCEPTANCE NOTICE; MAKING OTHER <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 11th day of <br />December, 2000, in Resolution No. 2000-165, authorize an application to be made to the Office <br />of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, for the Texas Narcotics Control Program (TNCP) <br />grant; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, has issued its Grant <br />A ward entitled" Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program (Task Force)" Grant, No. <br />DB-01-AlO-13854-03, for the period beginning June 1, 2001, and ending May 31,2002, in the <br />total amount of $388,471.00, requiring a matching contribution of $129,490.00 in the form of <br />cash; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council previously adopted Resolution No. 2001-101 accepting the <br />aforesaid grant; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Grantor has advised the City that it desires to have assurances from the <br />City that in the event ofloss or misuse of grant funds, the City will return all funds to the Criminal <br />Justice Division; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council does hereby give assurances that in the event of loss or <br />misuse of the funds, the City will return all such funds to the Criminal Justice Division; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City <br />of Paris accept said Grant A ward and continue to suppress drug activity in and around the City <br />of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Texas Narcotics Control Program Grant entitled "Regional Controlled <br />Substance Apprehension Program (Task Force)" Grant, No. D B-O I-A 10-13 854-03, for the period <br />beginning June 1, 2001, and ending May 31,2002, in the total amount of $388,471.00, requiring <br />a matching contribution of $129,490.00 in the form of cash, be, and the same is hereby, accepted. <br />
