RESOLUTION NO. 2001-140 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, CONDITIONALLY AWARDING THE BID AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF MECHANICAL WORK AS PART OF THE "PARIS SANTA FE - FRISCO RAILROAD DEPOT REHABILITATION PROJECT"; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Paris did heretofore enter into a contact with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to rehabilitate the Paris Santa Fe - Frisco Railroad Depot under TxDOT's Statewide Transportation Enhancement Project Program; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris did heretofore advertise for bids for furnishing plant, labor, materials, and equipment, and for performing all work required for the "Paris Santa Fe - Frisco Railroad Depot Rehabilitation Project," which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock p.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2001; and, WHEREAS, the best bid for the performance of that portion of the project dealing with mechanical work was made by Jamar Contractors of Paris, Texas, and it should be awarded the bid for the same; and, WHEREAS, the award of any contract by the City for construction of the project must be specifically conditioned upon and shall be subject to the subsequent review and approval of TxDOT, otherwise to be null and void and of no force and effect; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That, subject to the review and approval of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) as otherwise specified herein, the bid of Jamar Contractors for the performance of that portion of the project dealing with mechanical work for the "Paris Santa Fe- Frisco Railroad Depot Rehabilitation Project" in the amount of $109,625.00, be, and the same is hereby, accepted and let conditioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents. Section 3. That, subsequent to the review and approval of TxDOT as otherwise specified herein, the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the contract with Jamar Contractors, upon the terms and conditions and in the form approved by the City Attorney, City Manager, and City Engineer.
