June 28, 2004 <br />Page 4 <br />Trey Elliot spoke in favor of the designation, stating that he felt it was their <br />responsibility to leave legacy. <br />Jessi and Ricky Gheen spoke in favor of the designation, stating they would <br />love to see Church Street preserved as it is. <br />Kelly Wickersham spoke in opposition of the designation, stating that the <br />ordinance was not legal. <br />Ann Harper spoke in favor of the designation. <br />Margie Bell spoke in opposition of the designation, stating we are all trying to <br />go in the same direction, but that they owners should not be forced to do <br />anything. <br />Linda Vandever spoke in favor of the designation, stating she did not own <br />property in the area, but would be interested in moving there. She stated that <br />Williamsburg Shopping Center sits on the site where an old historic home <br />was once located, but it was torn down in the name of progress. <br />Clifton Fendley spoke in favor of the designation, stating he would not have <br />purchased his house if not for the possibility that the area would be <br />preserved. <br />Hunter Moore spoke in favor of the designation. <br />Matt Frierson spoke in favor of the designation, stating the he and others like <br />him are the future, and they should help preserve the historic areas. <br />Bill and Jean Canida poke i n of the designation. <br />Louise Hagood spoke in favor of the designation, stating she would like the <br />Commission to establish a district on Pine Bluff where she lives. <br />Bill Bone spoke in opposition of the designation. <br />Suzy Harper spoke in favor of the designation. <br />Pike Burkhart, Sr. spoke in favor of the designation. <br />Bill Hindman spoke in opposition of the designation, stating it was selective <br />discrimination. <br />
