MINUTES <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />PARIS JUNIOR COLLEGE <br />BOBBY R. WALTERS APPLIED TECHNOLOGY BUILDING, ROOM 1206 <br />WEST ENTRANCE <br />2400 CLARKSVILLE STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, MARCH 31, 2003 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission Meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 4:00 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Paul Denney <br />Claudia Hunt <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Jerry Raper <br />Barbara Wilson <br />Becki Norment <br />Sue Lancaster <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Ann Rogers <br />Linda Ryan <br />C. Also present were Tommy Haynes, Historic Preservation Officer, Larry <br />W. Schenk, City Attorney, Susie Harper, Guest, and Marvin Gorley, <br />Guest. <br />2. Presentation of the minutes from the March 12, 2003, meeting. Motion to <br />approve the minutes of the March 12, 2003, meeting, was made by Sue <br />Lancaster, seconded by Barbara Wilson. Motion carried unanimously. <br />3. Report of Historic Survey Proposals. A proposal from Diane Williams was <br />presented to the Commission, and the Commission was advised that a <br />proposal was expected at any time from Mary Saltarelli. Architexas and Jim <br />Steeley will also be submitting proposals. The Commission agreed to meet <br />later in week with Architexas to do a drive around, then one more proposal is <br />expected. No action was taken. <br />4. Presentation of and possible action on the formal redesignation of the <br />preliminary boundaries of the proposed Paris Downtown Historic District. <br />When preparing for the general mailing to property owners, it was found that <br />previous boundaries of the 1984 survey that were passed did not agree. <br />
