July 14, 2004 <br />Page 3 <br />Chairman Starrett asked the Commission if there were any properties they <br />wished to pull from the list and discuss separately. Barbara Wilson requested <br />that item L be pulled, and Ms. Wright advised the Commission that Paul <br />Denney had contacted her and requested that item H be pulled. Motion to <br />table item H until July was made by Barbara Wilson, seconded by Brian Wear. <br />Motion carried 5 -0. Motion that item L be designated a historic property and <br />pulled from the list was made by Barbara Wilson, seconded by Brian Wear. <br />Motion carried 5 -0. Motion that all other properties be forwarded to the <br />Building and Standards Commission for action was made by Barbara Wilson, <br />seconded by Sue Lancaster. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />5. Discussion of status and possible action on the following structures <br />considered by code inspectors to be in violation of Article 111 of Chapter 7 of <br />the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled <br />"Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures," and previously <br />determined by the Historic Preservation Commission to be buildings or <br />structures that can be rehabilitated and designated on the National Register <br />of Historic Places, as a recorded Texas Historic Landmark, or as historic <br />property as designated by the City Council of the City of Paris: <br />A. 336 3rd Street S. W. - Ms. Wright reported that time was running on this <br />property, and she has heard nothing from the owners. Sue Lancaster <br />stated she would contact the owner and ask her to donate the <br />architectural elements. No action was taken. <br />6. Discussion of and possible action on declaring the following properties as <br />historic landmarks and setting a public hearing on same: <br />A. 744 3rd Street N.W. (Bill and Rita Buford) <br />B. 2006 Bonham Street (Larry D. Hunt) <br />C. 1305 Pine Bluff (Charles Park) <br />Sue Lancaster told the Commission the fire damage on the Pine Bluff property <br />was not that bad. Claudia Hunt stated she thought it was questionable and <br />did not think anyone would spend that kind of money. Motion that all three <br />properties be declared landmarks and that a public hearing be set was made <br />by Sue Lancaster, seconded by Barbara Wilson. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />7. Receipt of report from the Historic Preservation Officer. Barbara Wilson <br />advised the Commission that she had requested that Lindsey Harper attend <br />the meeting to report on signs.
