(1) 738 1st Street S.W. - They're scraping paint, which is evidence <br />that work is about to start. A letter was mailed to Verdome, Inc. <br />(Vic Ressler, Sr.) and advised that they needed to fill out a COA. <br />He called and advised that they are priming the house to protect <br />the wood and he will fill out a COA when he returns to town, <br />before they paint. <br />(2) 112 Clarksville Street - Noticed Lyn's World Food Market about <br />her sign. She has since removed it. <br />B. Other contacts regarding violations -The HPO reported thatshe walked <br />down the block with Lyn's in it and made personal contact with all <br />merchants who have signs hanging. <br />(1) The Sprint Store was told they needed to contact the HPO to fill <br />out a COA and get a sign permit. <br />(2) The t -shirt shop was told they had to secure the sign by <br />something other than a chain or other material that will let the <br />sign blow in the wind. Their actual sign predated the HPC <br />ordinance. <br />(3) Lamplighter was told they had to secure their sign by something <br />other than a chain or other material that will blow in the wind. <br />C. Other violations: <br />(1) Ben Faber was sent notice regarding a hanging window cover. <br />The BSC ordinance doesn't allow me to just take it down, so the <br />City barricaded the street and will act the second his time <br />expires if he hasn't already done something. <br />D. Historic Structures - The HPO obtained emergency orders this morning <br />from the City Manager to secure the Church of Christ Science and the <br />Baldwin House from unauthorized entry. She stated she hoped to have <br />the securing completed by the end of the day tomorrow, depending on <br />weather and inmate availability. The Police Department has been <br />working increased patrol of the Church of Christ Science for the past <br />week and half. <br />E. City Council actions: <br />(1) Tax Abatements - The City Council has directed the Legal <br />Department to put the Greenville ordinance into the Paris format <br />and bring back to a future agenda for adoption.
