<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004-195
<br />
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A SUPPLEMENTAL
<br />GRANT APPLICATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR,
<br />CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, TO ADD RAINS COUNTY TO THE RED
<br />RIVER V ALLEY DRUG TASK FORCE AND TO PROVIDE FOR OTHER
<br />FINANCIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE REVISIONS TO THE AFORESAID
<br />RED RIVER VALLEY DRUG TASK FORCE GRANT; MAKING OTHER
<br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
<br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City fo Paris, by adoption of Resolution No. 2004-
<br />026, adopted February 9, 2004, as amended by Resolution No. 2004-101, adopted June 14, 2004,
<br />authorized an application to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, Texas
<br />Narcotics Control Program, for a Red River Valley Drug Task Force Grant; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, a supplemental grant application has been proposed to add Rains County to
<br />the aforesaid Task Force accompanied by an appropriate $25,000.00 cash match provided by Rains
<br />County, and providing for other administrative and financial revisions as stated in said
<br />supplemental grant application; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has agreed to and is prepared to further
<br />agree to provide matching monies for the said project in the amount of $25,000.00, reflecting an
<br />adjustment as required by the aforesaid supplemental grant application; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has agreed and continues to agree that,
<br />in the event of loss or misuse of the criminal justice funds, the City Council of the City of Paris
<br />assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the Mayor, City Manager, and
<br />appropriate City staff to accept and implement said supplemental grant (if same is received)
<br />without further action of City Council; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, in conjunction with said grant application, if deemed appropriate and
<br />necessary, the City of Paris and the counties of Lamar, Fannin, Hopkins, Delta, Franklin, and
<br />now joined by Rains County, the cities of Bonham and Sulphur Springs, the 8th Judicial District
<br />Attorney for Delta and Franklin Counties shall enter into a contract or contract amendment
<br />agreeing to be bound by the requirements of the aforesaid Supplemental Grant; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the form of any such revised or amended contract, if same is required; should
<br />in all things be approved, and the City Manager should be authorized to execute the same; NOW,
<br />THEREFORE,
