<br />Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris, Texas, as the Project Entity, does <br />hereby authorize the Chief of Police and/or his designee on behalf of the Regional Controlled <br />Substance Apprehension Program Drug Task Force (the "Drug Task Force") to advertise for and <br />solicit bids for those certain firearms and other weapons confiscated as a result of the drug <br />interdiction activities of the aforesaid Drug Task Force, as those firearms and other weapons are <br />identified in that list of such firearms and other weapons attached hereto as Exhibit A and for all <br />purposes incorporated herein. <br /> <br />Section 3. That the aforesaid firearms and other weapons as listed in Exhibit A herein have <br />been and are authorized for disposition as a result oflawfuljudicial orders placing ownership of said <br />firearms and other weapons in the Drug Task Force, and as a result said Drug Task Force is <br />authorized by law to sell such firearms and other weapons and apply the proceeds from said sale to <br />further drug interdiction activities. <br /> <br />Section 4. That following advertisement for bids for the sale of said firearms and other <br />weapons, bids shall be received at the office of the City Manager on such date and such time as the <br />City Manager and Police Chief shall direct, and following receipt of said bids, the highest bidder <br />shall be identified and presented to the City Council for subsequent award. <br /> <br />Section 5. That bids shall be received for said confiscated firearms and other weapons only <br />from registered, licensed Federal Firearms Dealers as said individuals are authorized for said <br />purchase pursuant to state and federal law. <br /> <br />Section 6. That the proceeds of said sale shall be applied to future drug interdiction activity <br />undertaken by the Drug Task Force as said expenditures are authorized pursuant to state and federal <br />law. <br /> <br />Section 7.
