RESOLUTION NO. 2005-092 A A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE LOW BID OF PARIS TELEPHONE SERVICE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW TELEPHONE SYSTEM FOR THE NEW POLICE AND COURTS BUILDING; APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH PARIS TELEPHONE SERVICE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City has contracted for and construction is currently under way on a new Police and Courts Building for the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, construction of the new facility will require purchase and installation of an entirely new telephone system to serve said facility; and, WHEREAS, the Police Department of the City of Paris has solicited competitive proposals for the purchase and installation of a new telephone system for the new Police and Courts facility, with budgeted funds not to exceed $40,000,00; and, WHEREAS,Paris Telephone Service has submitted the low bid in the amountof$35,466.00 for the purchase and installation of a Northern Telecom 0 x 32 System, which meets the minimum specifications and requirements specified by the City for said telephone system; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to accept the bid of and to award a purchase agreement to Paris Telephone Service for the purchase and installation of a new telephone system for the new Paris Police and Courts Building; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the bid of Paris Telephone Service in the amount of $35,466.00 for the purchase and installation of a new Northern Telecom 0 x 32 Telephone System for use in the new City Police and Courts Building shall be and is hereby in all things accepted, contingent upon an acceptable purchase agreement as specified herein. Section 3. That the City Manager shall be and he is hereby authorized to execute and the City Clerk to attest to a purchase agreement, in such form as shall be acceptable to the City Attorney, for the purchase and installation of the aforesaid Northern Telecom 0 x 32 Telephone System from Paris Telephone Service for installation and use in the new City of Paris Police and Courts Building.
