<br />MOWING SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br />1. During the growing season, all areas will have maintenance performed on an as needed basis, <br />as determined by the Parks Supervisor. This will include a minimum of four mowings per <br />year per site. <br /> <br />2. Contractoris responsible for the following: Mow all existing grass or turf on property; weed-eat <br />around all fence lines, trees, tables, pavilions, playground equipment or other applicable <br />structures on property; edge all applicable concrete including curb and sidewalks; remove all <br />clippings; blow dust, clippings and leaves off hard surface areas; trim applicable hedges and <br />shrubs on property (per specifications by the parks supervisor); remove weeds, debris and leaves <br />from any applicable flower beds. The contractor is also responsible for mowing, trimming and <br />leaf control through the summer months and on an as needed basis through the winter months. <br /> <br />3. The City of Paris will be responsible for chemical applications to properties and pruning any <br />existing trees. <br /> <br />4. Bidders must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in commercial grounds maintenance <br />operations. <br /> <br />5. Bidders should include a list of references for whom they have performed grounds maintenance <br />during the past three (3) years. <br /> <br />6. Bidders must have current public liability insurance not less than Five Hundred Thousand <br />Dollars ($500,000) and workman's compensation insurance at the time of bid opening. No <br />exceptions. <br /> <br />7. Bidders must use the attached bid form. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be conducted <br />on April 13, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the city manager's conference room, Paris, Texas <br /> <br />8. Bidders must currently own or operate a landscape company at time of bid and the equipment <br />capable of performing the work required. No exceptions. <br /> <br />A. The Contractor(s) shall provide hislher own equipment, labor, fuel and any other <br />materials necessary to complete the required work. The Contractor(s) shall be <br />responsible for the maintenance and repair of hislher own equipment and the <br />availability, presence and supervision of hislher own employees. <br /> <br />B. The Contractor(s) is required to have a competent and experienced supervisor/foreman, <br />with each work group at all times. The supervisor/foreman referred to herein may be a <br />working foreman operating a mower or other equipment. This supervisor/foreman must <br />be able to communicate effectively with the City Representative. <br /> <br />9. Upon bid award, the total base bid amount shall be divided by 12 months and paid to the <br />contractor on a monthly basis. All additional mowings (anything over four (4) mows per <br />property/park/median) will be requested by the Park Supervisor and be separately invoiced. <br /> <br />10. The City reserves the right to request additional mowings on an individual basis as determined <br />by the Park Supervisor. The City reserves the right to add or subtract the mowing of facilities <br />and the monthly payments will be adjusted accordingly. <br />
