asphalt but the weather temperatures dropped so they weren't able to pave it. Mrs. Easton
states that she has been told they are on track to pave next week, Tuesday, January 23"d,
Mrs. Easton farther states at this point they are 200 -days over their contract time with
TOJ' and they're going to be penalized monetarily for their delay. Ray Ball, Vice -
Chairman asked if the deficiency was no fault of their own, Mrs. Easton states they made
some grading mistakes and whenever they poured the asphalt they had a low spot. She
states they came in and milled down to get the water out. She state sit was a poor fix and
we didn't want sub -standard product on a brand new hangar that was very expensive for
the City and T'XDo,r. They had to do some regrading to get tile subgrade where it's
supposed to be and now they are preparing for their paving next week and hopefully they
have warm enough temperatures to finish the paving. Mr. Ball asked if the filial inspection
is approved by the City and TXDOT. Mrs. Easton states the City will be invited to the:
final inspection but it is a TXDOT project and they have a resident engineer and inspector
that is on-site everyday so the City will have representation. Mrs. Easton states if there is
something that the City is not happy with we basically tell TXDOT and they enforce it
through their contract with the contractor. Ray Ball asked if any additional water was
made available to service the hangar other than for Fire. Mrs. Easton states there is no
plumbing to the hangar; it has electricity only. Mrs. Easton states the hangar itself is
cornplete. We had a tour scheduled in December but did not have enough people that
Could make it at that time. Mrs. Easton stated if the board would like to reschedule the tour
to let her know.,
John Godwin, City Manager discussed the Wings over Paris Air Show with the Airport
Advisory Board. The board agreed to changing the Wings Over Paris Air Show to an
every other year event with a much simpler Fly -In on off years. Mr. Godwin states this
will still require work and expense to do well, but our effort and costs will be significantly
less. "ll he tentative date for the Fly -In is Saturday, May 12, 2018,
6 Requested itenis f6r fiiture agendas.
