Year of initial adoption of Water
Conservation Plan).

Long-term planning goal = (Dry-year demand) minus (Total Technical Potential)

= 208.1 gpcd - 28.95 gpcd = 179.15 gpcd ("Most Likely" conservation scenario)

= 208.1 gpcd _ 44.44 gpcd = 163.66 gpcd ("Advanced" conservation scenario)

cd

These goals are based on a potential reduction in total municipal gallons per capita
per day demand by the year 2050. Some of these conservation measures, such as
retrofitting of water-conserving plumbing fixtures, will not be realized in the early years
of the goal but will result in increasing benefit as we approach the year 2050 when more
older homes are re-plumbed and future new homes constructed. A tentative schedule to
achieve 100% of the goal by the year 2050 would be: 10% by 2010,17.5% by 2015,
25% by 2020, 37.5% by 2025, 50% by 2030,62.5% by 2035, 75% by 2040, 87.5% by
2045 and 100% by 2050.

Prepared by: City of Paris Environmental Services Division, April, 2005

9

.: '
'I;'
