John Godwin, City Manager FROM: Doug Harris, Director of Utilities SUBJECT: AWARD FLOW EQ BASIN BARSCREEN PROJECT BID DATE: 02/26/2018 BACKGROUND: Bids for the flow equalization basin barscreen project were received and publicly opened at 2:0�0 p.m. on. 02/20/2018. STATUS OF ISSUE: This project was advertised for bid beginning June 2017 and published on the following websites: Texas Comptroller Electronic State Business Daily; ClVCAs'r, Texas Bid Network; North America Procurement Council; McGraw-Hill Dodge; North Texas Construction Report; U.S. Department of Commerce Minority Development Center; Construct Connect; City of Paris; Hayter Engineering, Inc.; and published in The Paris News on 01/11/2018 and 01/18/2018. Thirty (30) contractors were contacted by phone and thirty-three (33) contractors were mailed bid packets by Ilayter Engineering, Inc. McInnis Brothers Construction, Inc, submitted the low bid of'$1,017,000.00, with deductive alternates 3, 4 and 5. Attached are the bid tabulation; a recornmendation letter from Mike Tibbets, P.E., Vice President/Senior Project Manager, Hayter Engineering, Inc.; and the Notice of Award. BUDGET: Department 86 -- Wastewater Treatin ent; 10-0901-86-98; $1,017,000.00; funding is distributed over four (4) budgets, fiscal years 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the low bid received, awarding the project to McInnis Brothers Construction, Inc.
