Paris Visitors & Convention Council <br />Board of Directors lVteetin <br />February 19, 2018 at 4:00 pm <br />Members Present: Tony Corso, Renee Harvey, Bryan Hargis, Mark Pankaj, Cleonne Drake, Charley Lewis, Lisa <br />Walker, Linda Kapp, John Godwin and Greg Wilson. <br />Staff Present: Gina Crawford and Becky Semple. <br />Chadlee Johnston called the meeting to, order at 4:07 pm. <br />Minutes...... The board was given a few minutes to read the January minutes. A motion to approve was made by <br />Mark Pankaj, seconded by Tony Corso. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Financials were presented by Greg Wilson, a motion to approve the financials was made by Chadlee Johnston, <br />seconded by Bryan Hargis. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request for Half de Paris Marathon on March 3. They asked for $2500-00. Due <br />to the funding guidelines a motion to approve $1425 was made by Bryan Hargis, seconded by Tony Corso. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request for Paris Main Street Winefest on April 14. They asked for $2500.00. <br />Due to the funding guidelines a motion to approve $2500 was made by Renee Harvey, seconded by Chadlee <br />Johnston. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request for Mad Max Run on April 14. They asked for $2500.00. Due to the <br />funding guidelines a motion to approve $1175 was made by Charley Lewis, seconded by Chadlee Johnston. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request for 2018 Dixie State Softball Tournament, July 13-17. They asked for <br />$2500.00. Renee Harvey made a motion to approve $1750 now and to give them $2500 if the final evaluation <br />shows proof of $2,500.00 in sponsorships received. This motion was seconded by Bryan Hargis. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />Greg Wilson spoke regarding the new events committee. This committee consists of Becky Semple,, Greg Wilson, <br />Chance Abbott, Brandon Bell and Julia Trigg Crawford. They came up with lots of ideas and look forward to <br />making some contacts. Some of the events included Bloggers convention, Box Car races, downtown slide, monster <br />truck convention and possibly becoming the square dance capital of Texas, <br />We, are continuing to market and promote Paris and Lamar County to attract meetings and events to be held in <br />Paris. We have been working extensively on our Website and updating our Social Media to attract more viewers to <br />see all the great assets we have here in Paris and Lamar County, <br />Motion to adjourn at 4:49 was made by Chadlee Johnston. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Becky Semple <br />
