<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-030 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A LETTER OF <br />AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF PARIS AND THE TEXAS <br />mSTORICAL COMMISSION TO QUALIFY THE CITY FOR ELIGIBILITY <br />TO CONTINUE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MAIN STREET GRADUATE <br />CITY PROGRAM; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Par is has been extended the opportunity to continue to participate <br />as a graduate city in the Texas Main Street Program; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to continue to participate in said program, the City is required to <br />enter into a Letter of Agreement with the Texas Historical Commission which represents a <br />commitment on the part of the City to continue as an "Official Graduate Main Street City"; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the aforesaid commitment contains mutual obligations on the part ofthe City <br />and the Texas Historical Commission incident to said designation; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to accept said offer of official designation and to <br />continue to participate in the aforesaid program; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, <br />on behalf of the City of Paris, and the City Clerk to attest to a Letter of Agreement, a copy of <br />which is attached hereto as Exhibit A and for all purposes incorporated herein, by and between the <br />City of Paris and the Texas Historical Commission to authorize the City to continue as an "Official <br />Graduate Main Street City" and to participate as a graduate city in the Texas Main Street Program, <br /> <br />Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage, <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this 14th day of February, 2005. <br /> <br />
