Meeting Minutes of the Main Street Advisory Board <br />107 Kaufman St <br />Paris Texas <br />City Council Chambers <br />Tuesday, February 13, 2018, <br />Present: <br />Glee Eminite <br />John Brazile <br />April Coward <br />Shelley McDowell <br />Frances Reed <br />Cheri Bedford, Main Street Manager <br />C'leonne Drake City Council Liaison <br />Absent: <br />Cody Kelly <br />Laurie Redus <br />Becky Semple, Chamber Liaison <br />1) Call meeting to order- Glee Eminite at 4,311 pm <br />2) Citizens Forurn- None <br />3) Approval of minutes of last meeting John Brazile moved to approve the minutes, Shelley McDowell seconded, minutes were <br />approved <br />4) Main Street Managers updates - <br />Cheri has had a request to allow a Crawfish Boil at the same time as the Wine Fest. The group (led by Dr. Bandel) wants to <br />do the boil at the Plaza Fountain, and sell tickets for $25. Committee recommended that they be offered a different date, <br />possibly a different location, such as Market Square. <br />b) The downtown work group has requested signs that can be posted in businesses directing shoppers to the public restrooms at <br />the Splash Park, Cheri had a couple of designs to look at. April suggested a brighter color might stand out more. Wording on <br />the signs changed to Dawn to Dusk (for restroom hours). <br />c) Breakfast webinars with the Roger Brooks videos have been very well received by merchants. The next one is scheduled for <br />2-20 at 8 am. 15-20 people have been. in attendance at them all so far. <br />d) Thei-Cs a website for Wine Fest www.paris,winefest.coni , also a Facebook event. We have I I food vendors confirmed, had a <br />goal of 10. <br />e) Cheri met with THC, they're working on a historical marker for the north side park/parking of the Courthouse, in honor of <br />the family who sold the property to the city. <br />f) Carriage House property has been listed for sale. www.downtowntx,corn has properties for sale. <br />g) May is Preservation Month. We'H do another Imagine the Possibilities tour, probably 3`d Saturday in May. <br />h) Texas Main Street informed Cheri we'll be nominated fora national recognition. Our plan received 114/125 points. <br />5) Committee Liaison Rqp2rts- <br />a) IIRC -- Glee reported they discussed presenting to city council ideas for design standards, Also EDUCATING potential <br />business owners of servicesibenefits available to them. <br />b) Promotions John reported on the following: <br />if Movies in the Park will be June 7-1.4-2.1-28 and they'll choose four movies from this list: Cars 3 The Wild Life — <br />Gnomeo and Juliette Jumanji -- Looney Looney Bugs Bunny Movie. <br />ii) Wine Fest — price will be the same as last year, stipend to Wineries @,, $150. <br />iii) Market Square Affair will be 2nd Sat. in September. <br />iv) Blues Festival under consideration <br />v) We are no longer supporting Junk in the 'Trunk. <br />vi) They discussed ideas for increasing participation in Reno's "Bike to the Market" program. <br />c) Economic Vitality -- no report <br />d) Organization — no report <br />e) PDA -- Glee reported they decided not to continue with the: Antique Fair at the Gibraltar. St. Patrick's Day events are being <br />planned. There's a possibility of working with Mary Musick for Cinco de Mayo events. Kari Daniel and Ellen Temple have <br />created the @i)paristx Instagram account. <br />
