Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 28, 2018 <br />Opening: <br />The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:0�O p.m. <br />Present: <br />Board members present were Carol James, Connie Dodd, CKristian Schock, Denise Kornegay, Rebecca <br />Uniphrey, and director Priscilla McAnally, Daisy flarvill and Mike Lazar were absent. <br />1. Approval Of. inutes <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as presented. <br />11. New Business: <br />Eliminating fines and fees on juvenile materials was discussed as a way to encourage return of <br />materials and prornote children's usage of the library. More research will be done on how <br />other libraries have implemented this, and the pros and cons of doing so. <br />III Old Business: <br />Sue Smith is the newest library staff member, She started her position as a part-time Clerk I on <br />March 19. TheJob is 20 hours per week. <br />IV. Presentations <br />A. Budget Report. <br />No unusual expenditures and spending is on track for the year. <br />B. Statistical Report. <br />Circulation saw a decrease of 11.9% from this time last year. <br />V. Friends of the Library: <br />VL Director's Remarks <br />Annong the programs the director attended at the Public Library Association Conference was one <br />about the circulating of Mobile Hotspots to patrons. Ms. McAnally will be looking into the pros <br />and cons of such a program. <br />The next meeting will be April 18. <br />Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 4:35 p.m. <br />Submitted by <br />Priscilla McAnally for Daisy Harvill, Secretary <br />
