HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PARIS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING <br />100 GEORGE WRIGHT HOMES <br />MINUTES OF March 20, 2018 <br />Present at the Meeting: <br />Gary Savage -- Chairman of the Board of Commissioners <br />TK Haynes — Vice Chairman of the Board of Commissioners <br />Dewayne Dangerfield — Commissioner of the Board of Commissioners <br />Sally Ruthart — Executive Director <br />Patricia Pridemore - PHA Operations Manager <br />Kim Snow - PHA Housing Inspector <br />Skipper Steeley <br />1. Meeting Called to order at 12:32 pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 by Chairman of the <br />Board of Commissioners, Gary Savage. <br />2. Having three Board Members present, a quorum, Mr. Savage thanked and welcomed <br />everyone to the meeting. <br />3. Citizens' Forum Opened - Skipper Steeley chose to speak to the Board of <br />Commissioners. Mr. Steeley stated he is the great great grandson of George Wright and <br />would like for the name of George Wright Complex to be changed. He stated, that he gets <br />tired of hearing George Wright's name on the police blotter. Mrs. Ruthart informed Mr. <br />Steeley that the addresses that are currently 101 George Wright Homes for example is <br />going to be changed to street addresses at a request from the ATCOG for purposes of the <br />911 addresses. Mr. Savage advised Mr. Steeley that the Board would get back to him <br />after the Board has a chance to discuss this matter. <br />4. Minutes from the December 19, 2017 Meeting <br />Minutes were approved with a motion made by Mr. T. K. Haynes and seconded by Mr. <br />Dewayne Dangerfield. Passed 3-0. <br />5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None <br />6. NEW BUSINESS: <br />A. Occupancy Report — Waiting lists for PH and Section 8, Demographic Reports, and <br />Vacancy Reports were all presented to the Board. <br />B. Financial Report — presented bank statements and charts from the accountant for PH <br />and Section 8. Also, a copy of the letter to Dr. Ben Carson regarding the lowering of flat <br />rents was also presented to the Board. The day after the letter was sent to Dr. Carson, a <br />PIH notice came out from HUD with instructions on how to apply for Flat Rent <br />Exceptions. Mrs. RuthaA added that HUD Fort Worth called her on a conference call and <br />apologized for dropping the ball on this matter and that they would do whatever the PHA <br />needed to help in this matter.
