MINUTES, OF THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS Alay 7,2018 The City Council of the City of Paris met for a spec tial session at 5:30 p.111. on Monday, May 7, 2018, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas. Present: Mayor: Steven Clifford Council Members: Aaron Jenkins; Billy Sue Lancaster; Billy Trenado; Linda Knox; and Paula Portugal City Staff: John Godwin, City Manager; Stephanie Harris, City Attorney; Janice Ellis, City Clerk; and Tom Hunt, Municipal Judge Opening A encla 1. Call meeting to order. Mayor Clifford called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. 2. Convene into Executive Session pursuant to: (A) Section 551,074 of the Texas Government Code, (1) to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee, or (2) to hear a complaint or charge against an officer or employee, as follows: • Annual evaluation of the city manager; • Annual evaluation of the municipal judge; • Annual evaluation of the city attorney. (B) Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code, Consultation with Attorney, to receive legal advice front the City Attorney about (1) pending or contemplated litigation, or (2) on a matter in which the duty of an attorney to the governmental body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with this chapter, as follows: • City of Paris v. Boomer Trends Magazine, Inc., Cause No. 87292, in the 62" a Judicial District Court of Lamar County, Texas; • Katriana Wright employment claim. Mayor Clifford convened City Council into executive session at 5:30 p.m.
