MINUTES, OF THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />Alay 7,2018 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a spec tial session at 5:30 p.111. on Monday, <br />May 7, 2018, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas. <br />Present: Mayor: Steven Clifford <br />Council Members: Aaron Jenkins; Billy Sue Lancaster; Billy Trenado; <br />Linda Knox; and Paula Portugal <br />City Staff: John Godwin, City Manager; Stephanie Harris, City <br />Attorney; Janice Ellis, City Clerk; and Tom Hunt, <br />Municipal Judge <br />Opening A encla <br />1. Call meeting to order. <br />Mayor Clifford called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />2. Convene into Executive Session pursuant to: <br />(A) Section 551,074 of the Texas Government Code, (1) to deliberate the <br />appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or <br />dismissal of a public officer or employee, or (2) to hear a complaint or charge <br />against an officer or employee, as follows: <br />• Annual evaluation of the city manager; <br />• Annual evaluation of the municipal judge; <br />• Annual evaluation of the city attorney. <br />(B) Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code, Consultation with Attorney, to <br />receive legal advice front the City Attorney about (1) pending or contemplated <br />litigation, or (2) on a matter in which the duty of an attorney to the governmental <br />body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar <br />of Texas clearly conflicts with this chapter, as follows: <br />• City of Paris v. Boomer Trends Magazine, Inc., Cause No. 87292, in the 62" a <br />Judicial District Court of Lamar County, Texas; <br />• Katriana Wright employment claim. <br />Mayor Clifford convened City Council into executive session at 5:30 p.m. <br />
