I IN MENEWN531WO, DATE: May 7, 2018, BACKGROUND: On January 22, 2018, by Resolution Number 2018-001, City Council ordered the regular municipal election for the purpose of voters to elect Council Members frorn Districts 1, 2, 3 and 6. On March 1, 2018, the City Clerk issued a certificate of unopposed the candidate for District 1. On March 12, 2018, by Ordinance No, 2018-009, City Council declared Council Member Shandra, "Renae" Stone for District I elected to office, STATUS OF ISSUE: On May 6, 2018, a general election took place for the purpose of voters to elect Council Members from Districts 2, 3, and 6. In District 2, a total of 42 votes were cast, with Ed Darnell receiving a total of 4 votes, Don McMiight receiving a total of 16 votes, and Derrick T. Hughes receiving a total of 22 votes, Derrick T. Hughes received the majority of votes cast, In District 3, a total of 125 votes were cast, with Billy Trenado receiving a total of 73 votes and Jane Heiberg receiving a total of 52 votes. Billy Trenado received the majority of votes cast, In District 6, a total of 279 votes were cast, with Cleonne (Holmes) Drake receiving a total of 103 votes and Clayton Pilgrim receiving a total of 176 votes. Clayton Pilgrim received the majority of votes cast. 0MUNW.-I RECOMMENDATION: Approve the resolution declaring Derrick 1'. Hughes elected to serve as City Council Member for District 2; Billy Trenado elected to serve as City Council Member for District 3; and Clayton Pilgrim to serve as City Council Member for District 6.
