<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, in Resolution No. 96-
<br />132, authorize an application for the Texas Narcotics Control Program, 1997 Grant; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor of the Stale of Texas has issued its Grant A ward,
<br />entitled "Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program, Grant No. DB-97-N04-1059I ,"
<br />for the year beginning June 1, 1997, and ending May 31, 1998, in the amount of $328,076.00,
<br />requiring local matching funds of $109,361.00 divided between five entities, with the City of
<br />Paris's share of matching funds being $21,872.20, for a total project cost of $437,437.00; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within forty-five (45) days of the date of
<br />said award, which occurred on May 1, 1997; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City
<br />of Paris accept said Grant Award and continue to suppress drug activity in and around the City
<br />of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,

<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL 01<' THE CITY 01<' PARIS, that the
<br />Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program Grant No. DB-97-N04-10591, in the
<br />amount of $328,076.00, requiring local matching funds of $109,361.00 divided between five
<br />entities, with the City of Paris's share of matching funds being $21,872.20, for a total project cost
<br />of $437,437.00, be, and the same is hereby, accepted; and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the City of Paris, Michael E.
<br />Malone, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris,
<br />the Grant Acceptance Notice under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A,
<br />attached hereto.
