Paris Visitors & Convention Council <br />Board of Directors Meefin <br />April 16, 2018 at 4:00, pm <br />Members Present: Tony Corso, Greg Wilson, Mark Pankaj, Jeff Nutt, Jack Neal, Charley Lewis, Josh Bray, <br />James Wyatt, Lisa Walker, Brenda Wells and Chadlee Johnston. <br />Staff Present: Gina Crawford and Becky Semple, <br />Lisa Walker called: the meeting to order at 4:03 pm. <br />Minutes...... The board was given a few minutes to read the March minutes, A motion to approve was <br />made by Jeff Nutt, seconded by Charley Lewis. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Financials were presented by Greg Wilson, a motion to approve the financials, was made by Mark <br />Pankaj, seconded by Tony Corso. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request from Denver Pyle's Children's Charities Uncle Jesse Big Bass <br />Fishing Tournament. They asked for $2500-00. A motion to approve $1025 was made by Brenda Wells, <br />seconded by Jack Neal. Motion passed unanimously. Lisa Walker recused herself as she, is on the board <br />of this event. <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request from Paris Balloon and Music Festival. They asked for <br />$2500.00. A motion to approve $2158 was made by Mark Pankaj, seconded by Tony Corso. Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request from Southern Soul Concert. They asked for $2500.00. <br />There was discussion and due to the funding guidelines there was no award made for this event. <br />However, the event planner will be instructed to return with a final evaluation after the event at which <br />time there may be some funding awarded based' on overnight stays in Paris, <br />Josh Bray presented' the Paris Downtown Master Development Plan idea to the board to raise $100,000 <br />of private funds to hire the development group that provided plans to Sulphur Springs and other cities <br />for revitalization of downtowns. After discussion a motion was made by Mark Pankaj and seconded by <br />Brenda Wells to give, $10,000.00 of the VCC Non -Hot funds to this effort. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Becky Semple gave a brief report to the board on the ASA Archery Tournament that was held on April 5th <br />through the 8". <br />Jack Neal updated about the NETT stating that the Texas Parks and Wildlife is excited about what is <br />happening with the trail. Hoxton trail is being worked on and fundraising continues for the entire 135 <br />miles of the trail. <br />Motion toady rn at 5:11 was made by Chadlee Johnston. <br />Respectfully su mit ed, <br />Becky Semple <br />
