<br />. . <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 97-142 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 10th day of <br />November, 1997, pass Resolution No. 97-133, which said Resolution was incorrect and requires <br />correction; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that <br />Resolution No. 97-133, be, and the same is hereby, amended so that such shall read as follows: <br /> <br />"WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, <br />through the Ark-Tex Council of Governments, provides funding for "Violence <br />Against Women Act" grants; and, <br /> <br />"WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of processing <br />a grant application for a "Violent Crimes Against Women Unit Project," at a total <br />cost of $91,161.00, with $71,006.00 to be provided by grant and $25,155.00 to be <br />provided by the City of Paris in the form of in-kind services; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br /> <br />"BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS: <br /> <br />"1. That an application be made to the Office of the Governor, Criminal <br />Justice Division, through the Ark- Tex Council of Governments, for a "Violence <br />Against Women Act" grant in the amount of $71,006.00, being approximately 74% <br />of the estimated cost of the "Violent Crimes Against Women Unit Project," with <br />the City of Paris providing $25,155.00 in the form of in-kind services. <br /> <br />"2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City of Paris, be, and <br />he is hereby, appointed as the Authorized Official of said project, and that the <br />execution by the City Manager of the application for said grant, the form of which <br />application is attached hereto as Exhibit A, on the 3rd day of October, 1997, be, <br />and the same is hereby, ratified. <br /> <br />"3. That Karl Louis, Chief, Paris Police Department, be, and he is <br />hereby, appointed as Project Director and is hereby authorized and directed to <br />execute and deliver, on behalf of the City of Paris, all reports, communications, <br />assurances, and documents necessary for the completion of said project. <br /> <br />"4. That W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance, be, and he is hereby, <br />authorized and directed to serve as the Financial Officer for said project and to <br />receive and distribute funds for purposes of the "Violent Crimes Against Women <br />Unit Project." <br /> <br />"BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that, in the event of loss or misuse of <br />grant funds, the City Council of the City of Paris hereby assures the Criminal <br />Justice Division that funds will be returned to it in full." <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day ofDecember~ <br />
