Item No. 10 <br />TO: City Council <br />John Godwin, City Manager <br />FROM: Carla Easton, PE, City Engineer <br />SUBJI.-."'CT: GRANT PROJECT CLOSEOUT FOR TUE '11 1 xCDBG DICKSON & <br />ORANGE ST IMPROVEMENTS <br />DATE: June 1, 2018 <br />BACKGROUND: In 2015, the City applied for a grant through the Texas Community <br />Development Block Grant Program — Community Development Fund (TxCDBG - CD), <br />administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture fir the replacement of water lines, sewer <br />lines and street repair oil Dickson Street from 9'h NW to 11"' NW, and also a sewer line <br />replacement along Orange St. The City was awarded this grant for the 2016-17 budget year, <br />providing $275,000 toward plan development and construction of the proposed improvements. <br />Birkhoff, Hendricks & Carter completed the construction drawings for the project, and B. Bray <br />Construction completed the work. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: All work under this grant pro'lect is complete. Council accepted the <br />improvement,,, in May 2018, and we are now ready to proceed with grant closeout. As, part of the <br />TxCDBG closeout process, a public bearing is required to receive input fi-orn interested pat -ties. <br />BUDGET: This project was funded from'I'xCDBG Community Development Fund, <br />RECOMMENDATION: Conduct a public hearing to receive input regarding the "f'xCDBG <br />Dickson & Orange St Improvement project, and authorize the City Manager to execute necessary <br />documents for grant closeout. <br />
