Tinted or <br />reflective glazing, and prismatic or <br />patterned glass will not be allowed <br />unless shown to replicate the original, <br />• Applied materials, such as those used <br />to darken or alter reflectivity of the <br />glass, are not permissible. With the <br />exception of Low E glass, all are <br />subject to Commission approval' of the, <br />material. <br />• Installation of low -E glass is acceptable <br />to address today's energy concerns. <br />Screens <br />Door and window screens on historic <br />buildings are constructed of simple <br />wooden frames. They are framed to <br />mirror the panels and sash divisions of <br />the doors and windows that they cover., <br />Mill finish aluminum' is never an option <br />and is prohibited in the installation of <br />window screens and storm windows. <br />Factory painted storm and screen <br />windows with a meeting rail that <br />matches the window are acceptable. <br />Avoid the use of screen fabric that is <br />bright aluminum., <br />Storm Windows <br />• The installation of interior storm <br />windows is preferable to an exterior <br />installation and will not detract from the <br />original., <br />• Exterior storm windows should <br />replicate the appearance of the window <br />they cover.
