1. MAI - May 14 ,20 Page 17. Discuss and authorize the City Manager to execute a contract for professional services with Toole Design Group to develop the Downtown Visioning Plan for an amount not to exceed $90,005.00. In February, City Engineer Carla Easton said the Main Street Board hosted a meetitig with downtown business and property owners in order to provide a status update for improvements in downtown. Ms,, Easton also said they received feedback from stakeholders for prioritizing future initiatives, Ms. Easton reported stakeholders recommended to the City Manager the City pursue the help of a planning professional, experienced with the revitalization of downtowns in Texas. In response to the recornmendation, Ms. Easton said staff contacted Ian Lockwood with the Toole Design Group, as they were directly involved with revitalization projects in Sulphur Springs and Commerce. Ms. Easton said that Toole Design's proposed fee for services was $90.005 and in an effort to support this project, a group of stakeholders had raised over $80,000 in donations to cover expenses associated with this effort. Ms. Easton said if approved, the City of Paris, would be committing $10,000. Ms. Easton answered questions from City Council. A Motion to authorize the City Manager to execute a contract for professional services with Toole Design Group to develop a Downtown Visioning Plan for an amount not to exceed $90,005.00 was made by Mayor Clifford and seconded by Council Member Knox,, Motion carried, 7 ayes — 0 nays. I& Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to Resolution No. 2004-081. No future events were referenced. 19. Adjoumment. There being no further business, a Motion to adjourn was made by Mayor Clifford and was seconded by Council Member Trenado. Motion carried, 7 ayes — 0 nays.
