. . , RESOLUTION NO. 97-129 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of June, 1997, in Resolution No. 97-063 authorize an application to be made to the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance for the Local Law Enforcement Block Grants Program, grant; and, WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance has issued its Grant Award, entitled, "Local Law Enforcement Block Grants Program Grant Award No. 97LBVX3205" for the period beginning October I, 1997, ending September 30, 1999, in the total amount of $126, 139.00 requiring matching contribution of $14,015.00; and, WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within forty-five (45) days of the date of said award which occurred on September 30, 1997; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the citizens of Paris that the City of Paris accept said Grant Award for a packet cluster mobile data information system to continue to improve local law enforcement in the City of Paris; NOW, THERE.FORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the Law Enforcement Block Grants Program Grant Award No. 97LBVX3205 in the total amount of $126, 139.00 requiring matching contribution of $14,015.00 be, and the sameis hereby, accepted; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the City of Paris, Michael E. Malone, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris, the Grant A ward and Special Condition documents in the form of Exhibit A, attached hereto.
