<br />Paris Visitors & Convention Council <br />Board of Directors Meeting <br />May 21, 2018 at 4:00 pm <br /> <br />Members Present: Tony Corso, Greg Wilson, Neta Painter, Jack Neal, Renee Harvey, John Godwin, Linda <br />Kapp, James Wyatt, Lisa Walker, Brenda Wells, Bryan Glass, and Chadlee Johnston. <br /> <br />Staff Present: Gina Crawford and Becky Semple. <br /> <br />Lisa Walker called the meeting to order at 4:03 pm. <br /> <br />Lisa Walker introduced Tiffany Phillips and Krissy Crites with the Red River Valley Down Syndrome <br />Society. They made a presentation about a bicycle camp for kids with special needs. They want to start <br />the camp next Summer. Brandon Bell was also a guest. <br /> <br />Minutes……The board was given a few minutes to read the April minutes. A motion to approve was <br />made by Greg Wilson, seconded by Neta Painter. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Financials were presented by Greg Wilson, a motion to approve the financials was made by Chadlee <br />Johnston, seconded by Tony Corso. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request for the “Hell of the Northeast” Gravel Grind. They asked for <br />$2500.00. A motion to approve $1500 was made by Tony Corso, seconded by Jack Neal. Motion passed <br />unanimously. Greg Wilson said Lamar National Bank would also donate $500. <br /> <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request for the Backyard Bash II. They asked for $2500.00. A motion <br />to approve $2000 was made by Chadlee Johnston, seconded by Renee Harvey. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request for the Southern Soul Concert. They asked for $2500.00. A <br />motion to approve $500 was made by Neta Painter, seconded by Tony Corso. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request for an Evening with The Issacs and McNeill’s Gospel Concert. <br />They asked for $2500. A motion to approve $1325 was made by Brenda Wells, seconded by Jack Neal. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Greg Wilson made a presentation for a 15,000-square foot bicycle pump track for Paris, Texas. The <br />pump track will cost approximately $400,000; after expected grants, in kind, donations and sponsorships <br />the left-over cost will be about $50,000. A motion to approve $50,000 VCC contribution, subject to a <br />National Qualifier, was made by Chadlee Johnston, seconded by Brenda Wells.
