<br />FAMILY HAVEN CRISIS AND RESOURCE eENTER, INC. <br />JOB DESCRIPTION: CRIMES AGAINST WOMEN LIAISON <br /> <br />OBJEeTIVE: <br /> <br />Responsible to the Executive Director, the Crimes Against Women Liaison is responsible for <br />coordination of advocacy services and other social services for crimes against women provided <br />by Family Haven Crisis and Resource Center, Inc. in conjunction with the Paris Police Department <br /> <br />ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: <br /> <br />1. Reports directly to the Executive Director for supervision and guidance. <br />2. Acts in a=rdance with Family Haven poliCies and procedures. Maintains confidentiality. <br />Reflects professionalism when representing Family Haven in the community. <br />3. Coordinates daily with Paris Police Crimes Against Women officer to receive new referrals <br />and track follow-up on open cases. <br />4. Coordinates all services to victims of violent crime within the city of Paris, which includes <br />counseling, a=mpaniment, transportation and advocacy with the criminal justice system <br />and the Paris Police Department. <br />5. Assists with all phases of protective orders and other legal matters relating to Family <br />Haven clients within the city of Paris. <br />6. Coordinates with Paris Police Department on needs assessment and cross training for law <br />enforcement and Family Haven staff and volunteers. <br />7. Acts as primary liaison with all criminal justice offices concerning victims of violent crime <br />within the city of Paris. <br />8. Remains available for travel to meetings, seminars, criminal justice contacts and <br />community education programs. <br />9. As all staff members are Client Advocates: is on-call as needed; conducts individual <br />counseling with victims, including crisis intervention, goal setting and referral to other social <br />service agencies and the criminal justice system, as needed. These services include <br />individual, group and telephone counseling sessions, as well as providing assistance in <br />obtaining Victims Compensation; conducts or arranges for counseling of other family <br />members as requested; completes and maintains all required forms and case nofes <br />relating to Family Haven clients. (Files must remain Family Haven prop~rty.) <br />10. Assists with public education and public relation efforts of Family Haven within the city of <br />Paris. <br />11. Has a worKing knowledge of Texas laws regarding family violence and the justice system's <br />response to crimes against women. <br />12., .- ~s familiar with legal services, procedures and resources in Paris and Lamar County. <br />13. Helps both residents and non-resident victims in developing and evaluating their personal <br />safety plan as part of an individual service plan and identifies legal rights and options as <br />part of individual service plans. <br />14. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. <br /> <br />POSITION INFORMATION: <br /> <br />Salary Grade: 8 <br />Exempt <br />
