Bids were received and publicly opened at 3:00 p.m. on 07/24/2018. STATUS OF ISSUE: Bids were advertised in The Paris News on 06/24/2018 and 07/01/2018, and published on the City of Paris Department of Utilities website; bid packets were direct mailed to sixty-one (61) vendors; twenty-nine (29) bids from twenty (20) vendors were submitted. Low bids received: Chlorine, $770.00/ton, Brenntag Southwest, Inc.; Alum, $202.95/ton, Affinity Chemical, LLC.; Ammonia, $1,295.00/ton, Tanner Industries, Inc.; Bulk Lime, $187.76/ton, Texas Lime Company; Bagged Lime, $300.00/ton, Texas Lime Company; Powdered Activated Carbon, $0.500/lb., Cabot Norit Americas; Sulfur Dioxide, $770.00/ton, Brenntag Southwest, Inc.; Sodium Hydroxide, $718.00/ton, Brenntag Southwest, Inc.; Polymer, $1.13/lb., Polydyne, Inc.; Fluoride, $1.93/gal, Penceo, Inc. The bid tabulation is attached. All original bid documents are available for review in the office of the City Clerk. BUDGET: Department 82 - Water Production 10-0211-82-00: $580,826.00; Department 86 — Wastewater Treatment 10-0211-86-00: $133,500.00; Overall total: $714,326.00. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the low bids received for water and wastewater treatment chemicals to be used in FY 2018/2019.
