<br />RESOLUTION NO. 97-061 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 14th day of April, <br />1997, in Resolution No. 97-037, authorize the application for a grant under the Texas Community <br />Development Program (TCDP) for the purpose of funding the rehabilitation of single-family homes <br />owned by persons of low-income and handicapped status; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, one of the requirements of the TCDP Housing Rehabilitation Handicapped <br />Access Grant is the establishment of the position of "Section 504 Compliance Officer" to provide <br />equal opportunity for access to public buildings and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities <br />Act; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Paris that <br />said position be established and that Thomas E. Haynes, Project Coordinator of the City of Paris, be <br />appointed to the same; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the <br />position of "Section 504 Compliance Officer" to provide equal opportunity for access to public <br />buildings and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, be, and the same is hereby, <br />established; and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Thomas E. Haynes, Project Coordinator of the City <br />of Paris, be, and he is hereby, appointed to serve as the "Section 504 Compliance Officer" and <br />assigned with the responsibility of complying with the requirements of said Section 504. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of June, 1997. <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />Eric S.
