<br />RESOLUTION NO. Q6-051 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor, Automobile Theft Prevention Authority <br />provides funding for automobile theft prevention grants; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the information furnished for the submission of the Automobile Theft <br />Prevention Program Grant was not made available to the City of Paris in time for the <br />May 13, 1996, Council Meeting which directed that applications be submitted on or <br />before June 4, 1996, and this being the first regularly scheduled council meeting since <br />the making available of such information, it is appropriate that authorization be granted <br />for the making of such application; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of processing a grant <br />application for the Automobile Theft Prevention Grant entitled, "Northeast Texas <br />Automobile Theft Task Force" project, in the amount of $102,826.00 with $16,974 to be <br />provided by the City of Paris in the form of local funds and $4,200.00 in the form of in- <br />kind services; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: <br /> <br />I . That an application be made to the Office of the Governor, Automobile <br />Theft Prevention Authority for an Automobile Theft Prevention Grant entitled, "Northeast <br />Texas Automobile Theft Task Force" project, in the amount of $102,826.00 being <br />approximately 83 % of the estimated cost of the Automobile Theft Prevention Program <br />with $16,974 to be provided by the City of Paris in the form of local funds and <br />$4,200.00 in the form of in-kind services. <br /> <br />2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City of Paris, be, and he is <br />hereby, appointed as the Authorized Official of said project and is authorized and directed <br />to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the application for grant in the form attached <br />hereto as Exhibit A. <br /> <br />3. That Karl Louis, be, and he is hereby, appointed as Project Director and <br />is hereby authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Paris all reports, <br />communications, assurances and documents necessary for the completion of said project. <br /> <br />4. That W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance, be, and he is hereby, authorized <br />and directed to serve as the Financial Officer for said project and to receive and distribute <br />funds for the City of Paris police Department's continuing participation in the Automobile <br />Theft Prevention Program. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this lOth day of Jun~ <br /> <br /> <br />Eric s.~ May01 <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />'" ." <br />
