CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />AND <br />LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS, SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />2018 EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE <br />ASSISTANCE GRANT <br />Amount Requested. $10,806.00 <br />($5,403.00 for the City of Paris and $5403.00 for Lamar County) <br />CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />BUDGET NARRATIVE <br />Amount Requested: The City of Paris, Texas, Police Department is respectfully requesting <br />$5,519.50 of the total funds allocated to the disparate jurisdictions. <br />Budget: <br />Year 1: 1. Bait Car Video System $5403.00 <br />TOTAL REQUEST $5,403.00 <br />Narrative: The proposed expenditure will allow the City of Paris Police Department to acquire a <br />complete video system used for prosecution of vehicle theft and vehicle burglary. <br />LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS, SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />BUDGET NARRATIVE <br />Amount Requested. The Lamar County, Texas, Sheriff s Office is respectfully requesting <br />$5,403.00 of the total funds allocated to the disparate jurisdictions. <br />Budget: <br />Year 1: 1. Two FLIR Breach PTQ136 Multifunctional Thermal Imaging Monocular <br />Devices $4,376.18. <br />2. Three Kenwood TK-2312HVK VHF 5 watt 128 Ch. Portable Radio with <br />microphone, $1,026.00 <br />TOTAL REQUEST $5,403.00 <br />Narrative: Item #1 will be used on patrol/Criminal Investigations, searches and missing persons. <br />The FLIR handheld unit is multifunctional for all LE needs and deployments. These FLIR units <br />are exceptional tools for locating evidence, wanted persons, and missing persons. Officer safety <br />is greatly enhanced with the use of the FLIR units. Item 42 will be used by Lamar County <br />Deputies for Officer Safety and in the course of their law enforcement daily duties that require <br />communications with Dispatch, Law Enforcement, and first responders. <br />
