MINUTES OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />August 27, 2018 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, <br />August 27, 2018, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas. <br />Present: Mayor: Steven Clifford <br />Council Members: Derrick Hughes, Renae Stone, Billy Trenado, Linda <br />Knox, Clayton Pilgrim, and Paula Portugal <br />City Staff: John Godwin, City Manager; Stephanie Harris, City <br />Attorney; Janice Ellis, City Clerk; Gene Anderson, <br />Finance Director; Bob Hundley, Police Chief; Larry <br />Wright, Fire Chief; Doug Harris, Utilities Director; <br />Jerry McDaniel, Public Works Director; and Clyde <br />Crews, Fire Marshal <br />Opening Agenda <br />1. Call meeting to order. <br />Mayor Clifford called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />2. Invocation. <br />Finance Director Gene Anderson gave the invocation. <br />3. Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Hughes led the pledge. <br />4. Citizens' Forum. <br />Cheri Bedford, Main Street Director — she invited everyone to the Hatch Chile Fest on <br />Saturday at the Farmers Market. Ms. Bedford also announced the Market Square Affair was <br />scheduled for September 15 at the Farmers Market and that tickets were still available. <br />Syble Colson, 819 Lamar Avenue — she spoke about item 14, and expressed her concern <br />about the zoning being changed. Ms. Colson said the neighborhood was 72 years old and should <br />be preserved because it was architecturally unique. She asked Council to not change the zoning. <br />Consent A enda <br />Mayor Clifford inquired of Council Members if they wished to pull any items from the <br />consent agenda for discussion.
