RESOLUTION NO. 2018-015 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, APPOINTING FIVE MEMBERS AND ONE ALTERNATE MEMBER TO THE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 16 OF THE CITY ZONING ORDINANCE AND THE CITY'S POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR STANDING BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Section 16-100 of the City of Paris, Texas Zoning Ordinance No. 1710 states in part that the Board of Adjustment shall consist of five (5) members, each to be appointed by Resolution of the City council for a term of two years, and that the City Council may appoint two (2) alternate members of the Board of Adjustment who shall serve in the absence of one or more of the regular members when requested to do so by the Mayor or City Manager as the case may be; and WHEREAS, currently the terms of the five regular Board Members are expiring on June 30. WHEREAS, applications to fill the terms have been received from Benny Plata, Beverly Johnson, A.W. "Plug" Clem, David Hamilton (current Board Member), Chris Fitzgerald (current alternate Board Member), Louise Hagood (current Board Member), and Brady Fisher. WHEREAS, the alternate members to the Zoning Board of Adjustment are needed to help form a quorum when some of the five regular members are not present; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the following appointments are hereby made to the Zoning Board of Adjustment: David Hamilton, Louise Hagood and Benny Plata shall serve two-year terms and Brady Fisher and A.W. Clem shall serve one-year terms. Chris Fitzgerald shall serve as alternate member for a two-year term. Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
