Paris Visitors & Convention Council <br />Board ofwDirectors , Meet! <br />June 18, 2018 at 4:00 pm <br />Members, Present Tony Corso, Greg Wilson, Renee Harvey, John Godwin, James Wyatt, Lisa Walker, <br />Brenda Wells, Jeff Nutt, Bryan Hargis, Mark Pankaj, Charley Lewis, Josh Bray and Chadlee Johnston, <br />Staff Present: Gina Crawford, Paul Allen and Becky Semple. <br />Lisa Walker called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm. <br />Lisa Walker introduced Paul Allen, the new Lamar County Chamber of Commerce President/CLC). <br />Minutes...... The board was given a few minutes to read the May minutes. A motion to approve was <br />made by Renee Harvey, seconded by Chadlee Johnston. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Financials were presented by Greg Wilson, a motion to approve the financials was made by Mehir <br />Pankaj, seconded by Tony Corso, Motion passed unanimously. <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request for the Bug Tussle. They asked for $1500.00. A motion to <br />approve $1000 was made by Brenda Wells, seconded by Renee Harvey. Motion passed unanimously, <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request for the Church of God Restoration. They asked for $2500.00. <br />A motion to approve $1950 to be paid directly to the Love Civic Center was made by Bryan Hargis, <br />seconded by Tony Corso, Motion passed unanimously. It was also suggested to put a map up and have <br />the people mark where they are from. <br />John Godwin made a presentation regarding funding for lights at field 7, at the Sports Complex in Paris, <br />TX. This will be a means to attract and support more and larger tournaments. Previous cost quotes <br />ranged from $150,000 to $200,000. However, a recent partnership between Musco (a lighting <br />company) and Hargis Electric offers a chance to get the lights in place for approximately $80,000. A <br />discussion took place and a recommendation was made for the VCC to pay $40,000 over a three-year <br />period. John Godwin will go back to the council and see if this is agreeable to them. <br />Paul Allen spoke and said he was glad to be here. <br />Greg Wilson gave a brief report that the Pump track has raised $98,000 in sponsorships with 65 <br />sponsors. <br />Becky Semple gave a report on the upcoming events. <br />Motion to adjourn at 4:52 was made by Chadlee Johnston. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Gina Crawford <br />
