Chad Lindsey asked if there was any word on the downtown plan. Carla Easton stated that she
thinks they are doing an internal review of the memo so it might be this week or early the next
week to receive their official submittal.
John Lee asked if the public would have the opportunity to speak at the City Council meeting
regarding the Comprehensive Plan. Carla Easton stated yes, there will be another public
hearing before City Council. John Godwin states it is scheduled for the October 8th meeting.
Chad Lindsey states he knows the City staff worked hard on this and he thinks it was executed
very well and he hopes it is implemented here.
John Godwin wanted to reiterate that once the plan is approved by this commission and then
approved by City Council on Oct. 8th, a lot of those recommendations would come back to the
Planning & Zoning Commission, not all at one meeting but it would be a work plan over the
next year creating a lot of action items.
Motion was made by John Lee and seconded by Chad Lindsey to recommend adoption of this
plan to City Council. Motion carried 5-m with James 0' Bryan abstained.
12. Meeting adjourned at 5:48 P.M.
APPROVED THIS 1St DAY OF OCTOBER, 2018
Chairman
