Entities Involved with Historic Preservation in Paris. <br />The following are groups associated with various levels of historic preservation in Paris: <br />(A) Paris Historic Preservation Commission: Appointed by the city council. <br />(B) Paris Main Street Project: Appointed by the city council. <br />(C) Lamar County Historical Commission: This commission consists of members from all historic <br />related programs in Paris and Lamar County. <br />(D) Lamar County Historical Society: Operates the historic county museum in Paris. <br />(E) Lamar County Genealogical Society: Manages genealogy and cemetery records, offers library <br />programs, and performs genealogical research; located in the Santa Fe/Frisco train depot in Paris. <br />22 <br />
