<br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-111 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, in <br />Resolution No. 95-107, authorize an application to be made to the U. S. Department <br />of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, for funding for COPS <br />Universal Hiring Program grants; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented <br />Policing Services, has issued its Grant Award, entitled "COPS Universal Hiring <br />Supplement Award" No. 95CFWX2504, beginning March 1, 1995, ending April <br />30, 1999, in the total amount of $225,000.00, with the previous award amount <br />being $75,000.00 and the supplement award amount being $150,000.00; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within forty-five (45) days <br />of the date of said award, which occurred on September 9, 1996; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris <br />that the City of Paris accept said Grant Award and continue to improve police <br />protection in the City of Paris; NOW, THERE}'ORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY mE CITY COUNCIL OF mE CITY OF <br />PARIS, that the COPS Universal Hiring Program grant in the total amount of <br />$225,000.00, with the previous award amount being $75,000.00 and the supplement <br />award amount being $150,000.00, be, and the same is hereby, accepted;and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the City of Paris, <br />Michael E. Malone, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on <br />behalf of the City of Paris, the COPS Universal Hiring supplemental award in the <br />form of Exhibit A, attached hereto. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of October, 1996. <br /> <br />~~~ <br />Eric S.
