<br />- <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-085 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore in <br />Resolution No. 96-039, authorize an application to be made to the Office of the <br />Governor of the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division, through the Ark-Tex <br />Council of Governments for the Safe/Drug-Free Schools & Communities Act Grant; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the governor of the State of Texas, Criminal <br />Justice Division, through the Ark-Tex Council of Governments has issued its Grant <br />A ward, entitled, "POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE" Grant No. ED-96-JO 1-10 177 for <br />the year beginning September I, 1996, ending August 31, 1997, in the total amount <br />of $30,933.00 requiring matching contribution of $24,408.00; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within thirty (30) days of the <br />date of said award which occurred on July 8, 1996; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the citizens of Paris that <br />the City of Paris accept said Grant Award and continue to fund a full time police <br />officer as a coordinator for the Police Athletic League in the City of Paris; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, that the Safe/Drug-Free Schools & Communities Act Grant in the amount <br />of $30,933.00, requiring matching contribution of $24,408.00, be, and the same is <br />hereby, accepted. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the City of Paris, <br />Michael E. Malone, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute on <br />behalf of the City of Paris, the Grant Acceptance Notice in the form of Exhibit A <br />attached hereto. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPI'ED this 15th day of July, 1996. <br /> <br />~- <br /> <br />=-- <br /> <br />Eric S.
