<br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-078 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice <br />Assistance, Local Law Enforcement Block Grants Program provides funding for local <br />law enforcement grants; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of processing <br />a grant application for computer aided dispatch equipment, installation and training <br />at a total cost of $109,600.00, with $98,640.00 to be provided by grant and <br />$10,960.00 to be provided by the City of Paris in the form of local funds and in kind <br />services; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY Of' <br />PARIS: <br /> <br />I. That an application be made to the United States Department of <br />Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance for a Local Law Enforcement Block Grants <br />Program grant in the amount of $98,640.00, being approximately 90% of the <br />estimated cost of the computer aided dispatch equipment, installation and training, <br />with the City of Paris providing $10,960.00 in the form of local funds and in kind <br />services. <br /> <br />2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City of Paris, be, and <br />he is hereby appointed as the Authorized Official of said project and is authorized <br />and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the application for grant in the <br />form attached hereto as Exhibit A. <br /> <br />3. That Karl Louis, Chief Paris Police Department, be, and he is hereby <br />appointed as Project Director and is hereby authorized to execute and deliver on <br />behalf of the City of Paris all reports, communications, assurances, and documents <br />necessary for the completion of said project. <br /> <br />4, That W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance, be, and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to serve as the Financial Officer for said project and to <br />receive and distribute funds for the computer aided dispatch equipment, installation <br />and training project. <br /> <br />PASSED AND AOOPTED 1h;, 151h .., o~./ <br /> <br /> <br />ri~ S.
