<br />RESOLUTION NO. 96-076 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation provides 90 % <br />funding for airport improvements grants; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of processing <br />a grant application for Reconstruction (l500x150f) and Rehabilitation (6000x150f) <br />Runway 17-35, Stripe and mark Runway 17-35 (48,000sf), Rehabilitation Taxiway <br />A (3900x50f), Rehabilitation Taxiway B (430x50f), Replace Medium Intensity <br />Runway Lights Runway 17-35 (60001f), Seal Portland Cement Concrete joints and <br />mark apron (320x900f), Install 24 aircraft tiedowns, Drainage improvements, Install <br />erosion/sedimentation controls and update Airport Layout Plans and Exhibit "A" <br />thereto, at a total cost of $2,400,000.00, with $2,160,000.00 to be provided by grant <br />and $240,000.00 to be provided by the City of Paris in the form of local <br />contribution; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation requires that it be <br />designated the agent for the City of Paris for the purposes of receiving and <br />disbursing all funds for these improvements and for the administration of contracts <br />necessary for the implementation of said improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL O}' THE CITY OF <br />PARIS: <br /> <br />I. That an application be made to the Texas Department of <br />Transportation for airport improvements in the amount of $2,160,000.00, being <br />approximately 90 % of the estimated cost of Reconstruction (l500x 150f) and <br />Rehabilitation (6000xI50f) Runway 17-35, Stripe and mark Runway 17-35 <br />(48,000sf), Rehabilitation Taxiway A (3900x50f), Rehabilitation Taxiway B <br />(430x50f), Replace Medium Intensity Runway Lights Runway 17-35 (6000lf), Seal <br />Portland Cement Concrete joints and mark apron (320x900f), Install 24 aircraft <br />tiedowns, Drainage improvements, Install erosion/sedimentation controls and update <br />Airport Layout Plans and Exhibit "A" thereto, with the City of Paris providing <br />$240,000.00 in the form of local contribution. <br /> <br />2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City of Paris, be, and <br />he is hereby appointed as the Authorized Representative, of said project and is <br />authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the application for <br />grant at the appropriate time and with the appropriate authorization of this governing <br />body all contracts and agreements with the State of Texas represented by the Texas <br />Department of Transportation, and other such parties as shall be necessary and <br />appropriate for the implementation of the improvements to Cox Field Airport. <br /> <br />3. That Dick Boots, Director of Community Facilities, be, and he is <br />hereby appointed as Project Director and is hereby authorized to execute and deliver <br />on behalf of the City of Paris all reports, communications, assurances, and <br />documents necessary for the completion of said project. <br /> <br />4.
