Item No. 10 <br />r <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br />John Godwin, City Manager <br />FROM: Carla Easton, City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: CONTRACT CLOSEOUT FOR SOUTHEAST LIFT STATION OF 2013 <br />BOND FUND PROJECTS <br />DATE: November 8, 2018 <br />BACKGROUND: The 2013 Bond Fund for Water and Sewer Infrastructure projects includes <br />the southeast lift station and force main replacement. <br />The Southeast Lift Station and Force Main Construction Project was awarded to RBIS, LLC on <br />July 11, 2017, in the amount of $2,393,937.85. Change Order 41 was approved administratively <br />on September 26, 2017 to reduce the contract by ($205,000.00), to remove the cost of supplying <br />the portable trailer -mounted electric generator from the scope of services. Change Order #2 was <br />submitted on January 4, 2017, in the amount of $10,666.50, which covered the cost increase for <br />boring beneath the trail instead of open cut, in order to mitigate safety risks to the public during <br />construction. Change Order #3 was submitted on May 22, 2018, in the amount of $400 for the <br />installation of concrete encasement at the force main near Lamar Avenue. Additional City <br />approved field changes were approved in the amount of $65,100.35. The final contract amount is <br />$2,265,104.70. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: RBIS, LLC has completed all work under this contract. The utilities have <br />been substantially complete and utilized by the City since August 3, 2018. A final walkthrough <br />of the project was completed on September 28, 2018, and the punch list items were completed on <br />October 25, 2018. <br />The total pay amount to RBIS, LLC for all work completed under this contract is $2,265,104.70. <br />Progress payments have been made in accordance with the contract documents, and the only <br />remaining payment is for the retained amount of $113,255.24, which will be released upon final <br />acceptance by City Council. <br />BUDGET: This project is funded from the 2013 Bond Fund for infrastructure improvements. <br />
