<br />RESOLUTION NO. 95-080
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of
<br />January, 1995, in Resolution No. 95-008, authorize an application to be made to the U. S.
<br />Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, for a COPS FAST
<br />Program grant; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing
<br />Services, has issued its Grant Award entitled "COPS FAST Grant #95CFWX2504" for the three-
<br />year period beginning March I, 1995, ending February 28, 1998, in the total amount of
<br />$75,000.00, requiring matching contribution of $29,463.00, to be used for the purpose of paying
<br />the salary and approved fringe benefits for one sworn entry level officer, lateral transfer or
<br />rehired officer to implement the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) program; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the citizens of Paris that the City
<br />of Paris accept said Grant Award and continue to improve the Community Oriented Policing
<br />Services in the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
<br />COPS FAST Grant #95CFWX2504 for the three-year period beginning March I, 1995, ending
<br />February 28, 1998, in the total amount of $75,000.00, requiring matching contribution of
<br />$29,463.00, to be used for the purpose of paying the salary and approved fringe benefits for one
<br />sworn entry level officer, lateral transfer or rehired officer to implement the Community
<br />Oriented Policing Services (COPS) program be, and the same is hereby, accepted; and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the City of Paris, Michael
<br />E. Malone, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of
<br />Paris, the Grant Acceptance Notice in the form of Exhibit A, attached hereto.
