F endrt `Oir <br />dna V1 ce No. 201 <br />�......., <br />Fencing in the Commercial Historic District - <br />On page 28 of the City of Paris Historic District Design Standards it states that unless historically documented, fencing in <br />the commercial historic district is not allowed. In recent years in certain circumstances a fence could be necessary. The <br />commission or HPO will review appropriate fencing on a case by case basis for instances where fencing is requested in <br />the Paris Commercial Historic District. <br />Guidelines: <br />• If original remains repair that which is deteriorated. <br />• Place fences along established property lines <br />• Gates at the entrances to existing alleys will be mounted in a way not to damage adjacent historic structures. <br />• All fencing will be mounted on their own post. <br />• Attaching fencing to the brick of a historic building is prohibited. <br />Appropriate materials are: <br />Ornamental metal <br />Square/round vertical tubing utilizing caps or with <br />finials <br />Metal must be powder coated with an approved <br />historic color <br />Inappropriate fence: <br />The type of materials used to create a guard rail is <br />considered NOT appropriate fencing for the historic district. <br />Chain link, wood, vinyl, and concrete, steel pipe guardrails are all prohibited. <br />EXHIBIT A <br />
