REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY JANUARY 9.2019 <br />Present: Absent: <br />Chris Dux, Chairman Mike Lazar <br />Matt Coyle, Vice Chairman <br />Randy Hider, Secretary Guests: Paul Denney <br />Glee Emmite <br />Linda Vandiver <br />Sarah Barbee <br />Linda Knox, Council Liaison <br />Staff. <br />Cheri Bedford, Historic Preservation Officer <br />John Godwin, City Manage <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dux at 4:01 p.m. <br />The December 12, 2018 minutes were approved by acclamation. <br />City Manager reviewed the HPC subcommittee revisions to the mural ordinance with the rest of <br />the Commission. After the brief discussion on the order of the Ghost mural maintenance <br />techniques, the commission unanimously supported the mural ordinance recommendations as <br />presented. <br />Commissioner Hider met earlier the week before with Cheri Bedford to discuss ideas for a meet <br />and greet for property owners in Church Streets historic district. The meet and greet would review <br />good historic preservation practices; explain certificates of appropriateness, design standards, <br />help educate the property owner about their residence with information already available. <br />The objective of the meeting will be to assist in creating a sense of pride for the residence, <br />understand the importance of good preservation practices, and develop shared goals for the <br />neighborhood to develop accountability. Commissioner Dux and other commissioners suggested <br />the meet and greet include Pine Bluff residents. Commissioner Hider agreed it was important to <br />reach out to Pine Bluff, but best to focus on issues on local landmark on Church Street district first <br />and then reach out to the Pine Bluff district. Sending out a newsletter was discussed as well. No <br />date was set for the meet and greet, but addresses for the local landmark district residents is <br />available. A subcommittee of Linda Vandiver, Randy Hider, and Glee Emmite will work on a <br />newsletter, preservation information, and set a date for a meet and greet. <br />Cheri gave information on up and coming events in downtown. She went over the renovations that <br />have been takingplace in downtown throughout 2018. No certificates of Appropriateness were <br />approved in house for December. The date to present historic preservation report and downtown <br />update to City Council is March 11, 2019. <br />Hearing no other business the meeting adjourned at 4:53 p.m. <br />A2019 the t. <br />PP day of 2019 <br />
