Item No. 13 <br />TO: City Council <br />John Godwin, City Manager <br />FROM: Doug Harris, Director of Utilities <br />SUBJECT: AWARD ROTARY SLUDGE PRESS BID <br />DATE: February 15, 2019 <br />BACKGROUND: Bids for the wastewater treatment plant rotary sludge press were received and <br />publicly opened at 10:00 a.m. on 02/15/2019. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: This equipment was advertised for bid beginning January 14, 2019, <br />published in The Paris News on 01/14/2019 and 01/21/2019, and on the City of Paris website. <br />There are only two (2) manufacturers in North America for this type of equipment, bid packets <br />were direct mailed to both Prime Solution, Inc. and Fournier Industries, each submitted a bid. <br />Prime Solution, Inc. submitted the low bid of $250,000.00. Attached is the bid tabulation. <br />BUDGET: Department 86 — Wastewater Treatment; 10-1002-86-99; $250,000.00; this is a <br />budgeted item in FY 2018/2019. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the low bid received from Prime Solution, Inc., in the amount <br />of $250,000.00. <br />
