Station 3 (3 YRS) <br />Apparatus Operator, Station 1 (4 YRS) <br />Fire Fighter/ Paramedic, Station 8 TRT team member (5 YRS) <br />Arlington Texas is located between Dallas and Fort Worth Texas with a population of 400,000 people. It is home to the <br />Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers MLB team, University of Texas -Arlington (41;712 enrollment), has two large <br />theme parks in Six Flags over Texas and Hurricane Harbor Water Park and is a vacation destination. Arlington has 17 <br />Fire Stations, with 17 Engine companies; 5 Truck companies, 2 Squad Units, 5 Rescue Units, 5 Brush Trucks, an ARFF <br />Unit, 2 Battalions and a Shift Commander. Fire Rescue has a state of the art Hazardous Material Team, Dive/Rescue <br />Team, Technical Rescue Team and Fire Prevention department which operates the Explosive Ordinance Disposal <br />(EOD) team with 9 bomb EUD K -9's, an accredited Emergency Operation Center. <br />Commands 17 stations encompassing 2 Battalions, 17 engine companies, 5 truck companies, 2 <br />Squads, and 5 Rescues, 2 gas well response team, Haz-Mat team, Dive/Swift Water Rescue team and <br />the TRT team <br />■ Plans, directs, and monitors the daily operations of the shift <br />■ Acts as Incident Commander during emergency incidents by entering the sites to coordinate <br />and supervises field operations and ensures appropriate actions are taken to stabilize the <br />incident <br />■ Plan, direct and monitor internal and external relationships <br />• Enforcement of departmental rules, regulations, and procedures <br />■ Schedules, trains, assigns work, monitors performance, evaluates subordinates, maintains <br />records and prepares reports as needed <br />■ Plans, prepares, and conducts shift drills, training classes, and pre -fire planning activities to <br />increase effectiveness of personnel <br />• Compiles and prepares annual budget estimates pertaining to assigned companies, including <br />the purchase of new apparatus and equipment and station maintenance <br />■ Plans, recommends, develops and implements updated standard operating procedures and <br />short and long-term goals and objectives to improve service delivery <br />1103 S.
