<br />RESOLUTION NO. 95-059
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, by Resolution No.
<br />1330, on the 8th day of September, 1969, become a member of the Ark-Tex Council of
<br />Governments; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the Bylaws of the Ark- Tex Council of Governments,
<br />its Board of Directors shall be composed of members elected or appointed by its membership;
<br />and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council is entitled to appoint three of its members to serve on
<br />the Board of Directors of the Ark-Tex Council of Governments, as provided in said Bylaws;
<br />and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the term of office of Charles Fulbright, as a member of the Board of
<br />Directors of the Ark-Tex Council of Governments, expired on May 31, 1995; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, there exists other vacancies in the City's representation on the Board of
<br />Directors of the Ark- Tex Council of Governments due to Don Shelton and Millie McDonald no
<br />longer being members of the City Council, and it is necessary to appoint their successors; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S. Clifford, does hereby recommend
<br />the reappointment of Charles Fulbright and the appointments of Alan Boyd and Charles H.
<br />Neeley for terms of one (I) year, beginning June I, 1995, and ending May 31, 1996, or for as
<br />long as they are members of the City Council. or until their successors are duly appointed; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Mayor does also hereby recommend the appointment by the Board
<br />of Directors of the Ark- Tex Council of Governments of Charles H. Neeley to serve as a member
<br />of the Executive Committee of the Ark-Tex Council of Governments; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL O}<' THE CITY O}<' PARIS, that
<br />Charles Fulbright be, and he is hereby, reappointed, and that Alan Boyd and Charles H. Neeley
<br />be, and they are hereby, appointed to serve as members of the Board of Directors of the Ark-
<br />Tex Council of Governments for terms of one (I) year, beginning June I, 1995, and ending May
<br />31, 1996, or for as long as they are members of the City Council, or until their successors are
<br />duly appointed; and,
<br />
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Charles H. Neeley be, and he is hereby,
<br />recommended for appointment by the Board of Directors of the Ark- Tex Council of
<br />Governments to the Executive Committee of the Ark-Tex Council of Governments.
