<br />Paris Visitors & Convention Council <br />Board of Directors Meeting <br />September 17, 2018 at 4:00 pm <br /> <br />Members Present: Greg Wilson, Lisa Walker, Brenda Wells, Jeff Nutt, Bryan Hargis, Mark Pankaj, Charley Lewis, <br />Dr. Linda Kapp, Casey Ressler, Trey Glascock and Dustin Broadway. <br /> <br />Staff Present: Gina Crawford, Paul Allen, Randy Nation and Becky Semple. <br /> <br />Lisa Walker called the meeting to order at 4:02 pm. <br /> <br />Lisa Walker introduced the new board members, Casey Ressler, Trey Glascock and Dustin Broadway. <br /> <br />Minutes……The board was given a few minutes to read the June minutes. A motion to approve was made by Mark <br />Pankaj, seconded by Charley Lewis. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Financials were presented by Greg Wilson, a motion to approve the financials was made by Mark Pankaj, seconded <br />by Jeff Nutt. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Lisa Walker stated that at the last meeting John Godwin had made a presentation regarding funding lights at field <br />7, of the Sports Complex in Paris, TX. This will be a means to attract and support more and larger tournaments. <br />Previous cost quotes ranged from $150,000 to $200,000. However, a recent partnership between Musco (a <br />lighting company) and Hargis Electric offers a chance to get the lights in place for approximately $80,000. A <br />motion to approve paying $40,000 over a three-year period was made by Brenda Wells, seconded by Mark Pankaj. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request for Main Trading Ham Radio Day. They asked for $2500.00. Based on <br />the scoring system in place a motion to approve $1350 was made by Mark Pankaj, seconded by Brenda Wells. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Becky Semple presented a funding request for the Festival of Pumpkins. They asked for $2500.00. A motion to <br />approve $2500 was made by Brenda Wells, seconded by Bryan Hargis. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Paul Allen spoke and said the past weekend was a busy and successful weekend. <br /> <br />Greg Wilson gave a brief report on the Pump track, he stated that the grant has been submitted and we are <br />waiting on acceptance. He also said that if all goes as planned the pump track will begin construction in September <br />of 2019. <br /> <br />Bryan Hargis stated that Barber Hills will be having another event on October 14.
